10th Annual National Suit Drive
Men's Wearhouse Holds Suit Drive to Benefit Volunteers of America's Working Wardrobe
During the month of July, Volunteers of America Upstate New York is partnering with The Men's Wearhouse for the 10th annual National Suit Drive, the nation's largest collection of gently used business attire for men.
The Men's Wearhouse is encouraging residents throughout the Rochester area to donate unwanted, gently used business attire to their locations in Rochester and Victor. All gently used items will be collected at these local stores and given to Volunteers of America's Working Wardrobe for a fresh start for disadvantaged workers who seek a second chance in the workplace. Individuals who donate suits and other business attire at the Men's Wearhouse will receive a coupon for 50% off their next purchase of regular priced retail items.
VOA's Working Wardrobe is a program that provides business clothing and job coaching to more than 1,000 impoverished individuals each year. The program provides interviewing skills and counseling as needed to assist individuals as they strive to move into the workforce. "The clothing from this suit drive will help individuals to present themselves appropriately at job interviews and secure gainful employment as a result," says Gail Berkes, Manager of VOA's Working Wardrobe.
"VOA is very pleased to have been selected by The Men's Wearhouse as a beneficiary of their National Suit Drive again this year," said Kim Brumber, President and CEO of Volunteers of America Upstate New York. "The Working Wardrobe is a very successful program and being a part of this Suit Drive boosts the number of individuals we can serve."
