Tuesday's bright spot shines on Noah Adams.

This 15-year-old Boy Scout in Mendon's Troop 105 visited the Volunteers of America's emergency family shelter and volunteered to renovate the kids' playroom for his Eagle Scout project.

"It's very important to me that kids can be kids and they can have a safe and fun place to play and be themselves," he said. "It was a great learning experience and it will bring a lot of joy to the kids who are in a difficult time in their lives."

Noah hosted a bottle collection drive to raise funds for the project and even solicited local merchants and a dental group for help.

That, plus a dozen volunteers he enlisted to help with the project, are bright spots all in caring for kids in need.
