Volunteers of America to Announce New Projects to Serve At-Risk Children and Frail Seniors

Local government leaders will join Volunteers of America President & CEO JoAnne M. Ryan at a press conference on Monday, March 9th at 10:30 a.m. at the Volunteers of America Children’s Center at 214 Lake Avenue to unveil two, new projects focused on serving at-risk youth and low-income

The project for at-risk youth—called Camp HEROES—will build bridges between law enforcement officers and firefighters and at-risk youth.  The Rochester Police Chief and Fire Chief will be present at the press conference to help announce this project, which will serve 44 children this summer.

In addition, Volunteers of America is announcing the construction of a housing complex in Webster that will provide affordable housing for low-income seniors.  Representatives from Conifer Realty will be present at the press conference to help unveil the building renderings and construction timeline.
