This summer, school-aged children 5-12 are taking part in hands-on STEAM activities at the VOA Children’s Center. STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) can help shape how students think creatively, problem solve, and engage with the world around them. Program included activities such as robotics, coding, dance and theater, swimming, and fields trip to museums.
Summer programs like this one also play an important role in keeping children engaged and learning during months when academic skills can otherwise slide.
The enrichment program is made possible by funding through a grant from the Farash Foundation.
For families looking to keep the momentum going, VOACC’s after-school program offers ongoing learning throughout the school year.
