Volunteers of America has been selected by Tompkins County to design and operate an emergency shelter in Ithaca. The details of the new shelter are still in development, but it is anticipated VOA will serve up to 100 people, providing them with safe shelter, supportive services, three daily meals, and include space for co-located service providers, laundry, and other resources.

In addition, Tompkins County has engaged VOA to operate Code Blue emergency shelter services from November 15 through April 15, 2025.

“For more than 100 years, VOA has been providing essential services to those in need, and this partnership with Tompkins County allows us to extend that support to even more people across Upstate New York,” said Volunteers of America Upstate New York President and CEO Dr. Junior Dillion.
