I Remember Mama Celebration

Celebrating the senior ladies in our community, who otherwise would spend Mother's Day alone.

For 30 years, Volunteers of America has honored elderly mothers in our community who would otherwise be alone on Mother's Day at our I Remember Mama Breakfast. Because of the need to keep our senior ladies safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have changed our plans for this year.

Our goal remains to ensure that senior women in our community feel special and remembered on Mother’s Day. With your support, Volunteers of America will deliver special care packages on Mother’s Day to senior women so they can stay safely in their homes and know that the community is thinking of them on Mother’s Day.

Bringing comfort and joy to these ladies is especially important now because most senior women have been alone and isolated as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. You have helped us celebrate with these women in the past, and we need your help now, more than ever, so we can provide these care packages as well as ongoing support for vulnerable, low-income seniors.

Please consider making a gift to brighten the day of senior women this Mother’s Day. A donation to “I Remember Mama” is also a great way to honor a special woman in your life, like your mother or grandmother. VOA will send that person a Mother’s Day card informing them of your gift. Donations may also be made in memory of a loved one and we will notify a family member if information is provided.
