Strike Out Poverty
Rochester Red Wings Baseball
This year's Strikeout Poverty is going virtual! Before the pandemic, every time a Rochester Red Wings pitcher threw a strikeout to an opposing hitter, a donation was made to Volunteers of America. With the virtual campaign, you can help raise money for VOA just by sharing a social media post! Every time a post is shared using the #STRIKEOUTPOVERTY, a donation is made to Volunteers of America on behalf of Citizen's Bank.
All funds raised through the Strikeout Poverty Campaign directly support the many programs offered by Volunteers of America in Rochester including the following:
- VOA’s Children’s Center
- Camp Heroes and Summer Leap Learning Programs
- Guest House Emergency Family Shelter
- Transitional, Supportive and Permanent Housing for those at risk of homelessness
- Re-Entry Center, Step by Step and Alternatives to Incarceration programs
